D30 autofocus malfunction

Hi. I have a D30 that refuses to autofocus when the shutter button is pressed in P, TV or AV mode. It works fine in the idiot modes. CF2 is set to 0. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried changing which focus points are selected in the Creative modes? IIRC, the Basic modes generally try all available. If you're set for one that's decided to pack it in, this might be the problem.

I set all of the custom functions back to factory default and the autofocus is working fine. I thought that CF2 was the only one that affected whether AF works or not, but this is obviously not the case...
