Hey everyone, just got my 70-200 f/4L this afternoon and decided to go shoot some lacrosse practices to break it in. I LOVE THIS LENS! It's fantastic! Next on my list is the 100-400L because I've noticed 200mm isn't really enough reach. So, take a look and let me know what you think!

All were shot at f/4 ISO1600 with various shutter speeds between 1/1000 and 1/2000th. It was a very, very cloudy day today. Horrible conditions.

Very good captures and you got good clean colorful shots. 1600 iso, well it must have been pretty dismal.
You might also want to go the T-con route right now thats what I'm waiting for.
Glad you like your lens

THat's where the f/2.8 comes in handy.

What exposure program did you use? And if you do shoot raw, you can unexpose a little bit to get a quicker shutter.

Grego really? I think I used auto exposure or something...... I really know nothing about that yet..... I've only been shooting manual modes for 4-5 days now since I got my 20D. So right now I'm playing with the AI Servo One Shot stuff, apeture for DOF, shutter speeds, ISO, white balance settings, ect. Still have a lot to learn! I shot Large JPEG by the way. I only have one 1gb card that hold about 90-100 RAW's. Not really enough.

Good work RbrtPtikLeoSeny... looks like that lens is going to do the business! I'd suggest taking your pics from a lower position - kneeling or sitting on a small stool or the ground - as this will increase their impact even futher.

Looking forward to your next post!

Nice shots. I've gotta get me a lens like that!
Trying to figure out which one while I save my money.

I think they turned out nice for a very cloudy day. Nice action and facial expressions. You may be able to increase the brightness in Photoshop or compensate in the Canon Utility viewer software.

Thanks gmen for the advice I'll try getting down on my knees next time!

Kenyc, get this lens man! It's seriously true, nothing can beat a good ol L lens, and the 70-200 f/4 is one of the most afforable L's there are. I love this lens, although I do wish it was more like 70-300mm because often times 200mm doesn't seem to be enough, but o well!

TxLerman thanks, I had thought about brightening them up in PS. I might do that later, but for the most part I don't like editing my pics. (Mainly because I'm really bad at it) I guess I should give it a go though.

Thanks everyone!

90-100 Photos is a heck of a lot of photos. It also makes it easier to edit later on because then you don't have as many photos to go through. It also helps you learn to focus on the moments.

I have only 1gb as well, but I almost always shoot raw.

Yea, I guess your right Grego. I'll try to cut back and take less shots....
I'd kill to shoot RAW, but I still can't figure out how to make them work! They show up in the software that came with my 20D, but when I drag them into the folders on the side or something it wont let me open the file afterwards. It's pretty annoying!
