So Ocean City MD. is host to the Annual Cruizers Event. There are about 7,000 hot rods that will be in this 11 mile island town today thru Sunday, a great event to test photo skills.:D

I just picked up my Tamron 28-75mm lens, realize I need much more of a wide angle to compensate for the 1.6 crop factor on my 300D.

Out of approx 300 shots I have managed to save and slightly post process a handfull, posting my few favorites. Please critique some of these shots, I know some obvious errors but looking to get some feedback. I learned a lot about Av, ISO, and learnind camera funtions today and tonight but could use help with composition and cropping. There is a wealth of knowledge here and all feedback is appreciated.

Thanks for the feedback. I am still learning the camera, and photo basics. I took several shots with different settings to see what type of result each setting would give.

phenomenal job on the 1st and 4th shots. Tripod? Any EXIF info?

Thanks, the car was pure sex. Unfortunatly the camera didn't grasp all of it, but it's no doubt my favorite so far.

The first one was with a tripod, EXIF info:

Tv( Shutter Speed )
2
Av( Aperture Value )
9.0
Exposure Compensation
+2/3
ISO Speed
400
Image Size
800x384
Flash
Off

The 4th shot I saw the car on the side of the road and did a u-turn, took about 15 shots of it. Also on a tripod;

Shooting Date/Time
5/18/2005 9:37:50 PM
Tv( Shutter Speed )
5
Av( Aperture Value )
16
Exposure Compensation
+2/3
ISO Speed
400
Image Size
800x354
Flash
Off

Any others pointers greatly appreciated. Calling for rain tonight and Friday, so I have another opportunity to capture 7,000 hotrods one more night :)

Shooting after the rain can be very good, but stick with what you're doing. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the shot of that 56 (55 maybe, but pretty sure its a 56)

I love 'em all, especially #1, 2, & 4. 3 is good, but doesn't draw me in like the others. I like 5, but the image has something unusual in the way that the focus or bokeh or whatever is rendered.

nice job. keep it up.
i hope it is ok if try to photoshop picture 1 just to show you what you can do to make the shape and focus on the car better.

what did you do in ps to change it? It looks good.

Here are some others, only post processing was reducing the size.......... these are how they turned out.
