View Full Version : which wide angle to get

i have 1000$ to spend no more.. but i am looking at a EF-S 10-22mm or tamron 11-18mm.. plz give me ur advice. or should i go with lighting kit with a couple monolights for studio use. plz give me ur input. thanks

That would entirely depend on your needs!:)

As far as wide angles are concerned, I can't comment on the Tamron, but the 10-22 is excellent. I only wish it would fit my 1D Mk2!!

the wide angle i want jsut to have in my bag incase i need it. i do a lot of architectural work and photojournalist work..

with the lighting i do modeling photography and portraits.

so i jsut cant figure it out.. :-(

i was talking to my friend and i think i have it down to the 2 things
alienbees B800s and stands 1 umbrella and one large softbox

OR

Canon 10-22 EF-S...................

hmmm.. gonna sleep on it tontie and see what i wanna do.. i think the lighting would be more beneficial in the long run..cuz if i upgrade to a 1dMKII then i couldnt use it.. and my glass collection is pretty good at the moment.

You're probably right.

I bought the 10-22 for my 20D - used it on one outing and then had a rush of blood to the head and bought the 1D Mk2!! Doh! :lol: :lol:

If you're upgrading no use for the 10-22 but if you're not it is a hell of a lense...
