View Full Version : My first HDR from Union Square in San Francisco

This was taken handheld with a T1i with the 18-55 IS kit lens . I messed around in Dynamic Photo HDR 4 and after a while I decided that this ultra high contrast look was the best for the picture.

Seeing as how I have not read much on the "rules of photography", are there any tips that you can tell me, especially for taking pictures of buildings/the sky in the city?

generally it's a good idea to keep vertical lines vertical and the horizon level in architectural photos.

try use perspective adjustment in your post processing to straighten out the lines and use rotation to level the horizon.

HDR is a bit overdone for my taste.

The second is better.I just started HDR recently using same setup as yours and I like it.
