ixus 980 is vs ixus 95 is

Haven't really got a feel for the compact range. Looking at these 2 for a compact solution. The 95 is significantly cheaper. Is the 980 that much better? With the compacts, are the 9xx range higher/better than the 9x range? (ie opposite to the DSLRs with the 1D, 5D, xxD, then XXXD in order of top to bottom)

You just have to look at specs. The model numbers for Canon compacts are all over the place, and even different in different countries. Here in the US we don't even have an IXUS 980 or 95 so I can't help you!
