Guys,
As I;m in Newcastle visiting relatives, I've secured some photographer accreditation for the Aviva UK Athletics Grand Prix in Gateshead stadium.
Now whilst I have shot many sports before(motorsport, Football, Triathlons), I've never had media access at a track and field stadium, does anyone have experience of this? i.e where is expected to go/not go for events, and also any thoughts for classic angles for certain events.
Many Thanks.
I'll post some shots when I'm back.

Rich,
Each venue has their own rules about where photographers need to be (and not be). Best bet is to inquire upon your arrival, or ask another shooter.
Whenever I am assigned a new sport, I look at the Photo Wire on ESPN.com for classic shots: http://search.espn.go.com/track-and-field/photo/8 .
Looking forward to seeing your results.

I second Dennis' advice regarding clarifying the rules with the event organizers. I got my first credentials this year and ended up stepping on the toes of A LOT of people the first day since I was doing things that were advised to me that were completely against the rules (I.E shooting in a photo area exclusively designated for "daily" publications). I'm just grateful that the people in charge decided to pull me aside and clarify the rules to me rather than eject me.
The last thing you EVER want to do is get ejected from one of these things, as I believe your name goes out there as someone not to be given credentials ever again.

Thanks for all the advice, I had nothing to worry about.
One of the media guys took us out to the arena, and explained where we can and cannot go, also how and when to move to the in/out field. (there were seperat inside, and outside bibs)
Got some great shots of world champion athletes, will share some when I get some time (I am supposed to be on hoilday this week!)
