Unless the 20D is different the D60, 10D and 1DsMkII.

I talked with Alien Bees customer service before buying and the Alien Bees are compatable with Canon DSLR power requirements.

Meanwhile in the real world, I have used my Alien Bees, AB800 and AB1600s for about a 18 months now with NO PROBLEMS with any of the above cameras.

It's safe, the voltage won't do any damabe to your camera

i have been reading previous posts on alienbees and the 6v to the 20d..The max. trigger voltage that the 20D can handle is 250V, not 6V like the older Canon cameras.

What Jesper says is true. The ABs are in no way a harm to your 20D. I, too, have been using my ABs for quite a while now with absolutely no problems whatsoever.
