Hi,
I'm pretty new to this. I like to take photos of urban stuff, I like patterns, lights and night time.
I took this tonight down at Lunar Park. It's 129 seconds at f8, iso-100. Conversion to monochrome and some other minor adjustments were done in LR2. I'd appreciate any feedback and some helpful advice (I can take all forms).
Cheers, Tim

Well done!
The horizon is level. The focus is sharp at all distances. The balance between artificial light and ambient light is reasonably good (but I would recommend an earlier shot to get the balance more towards more ambient light and less artificial light).
I see 3 stars in the sky to the right of the bridge - these seem to be the only indication of long exposure.
Subject matter and composition are very good.
Congratulations!

First thing I noticed are the stars - I guess they do move that much in two minutes (15 degrees per hour, .5 degrees in two minutes...).
What's striking to me is the care taken to frame the subject: I like the crisscrossing diagonals of the bridge and the handrail, each leading the viewer's eyes to opposite corners. Very sharp all around (good choice of f/stop and ISO - back in film camera days, I used to do it wide open when I started long exposure until I read that one was supposed to set the aperture to that which offers the lens's optimum sharpness).

Agree. Nice shot. "Congratulations!" LOL. :D
You might wanna "trim" the trails off of those stars and brighten them a lil somehow. I think it would make a huge difference. :)

Wow, thanks for all of the positive feedback.
I wasn't sure if the stars should keep the trail or not. I kind of liked the movement in them but I've taken your advice and trimmed the tails and bought them out a little. I had them brighter but it looked unnatural so I've brought them back down a touch.

Great shot, and the edit improves it even more.
