I have been eyeballing some of Canon's 300mm IS lenses and before I buy, I was just wondering if there would be any newer ones coming out this year. Thanks!

I doubt if there's going to be any new 300 mm prime lenses in the near future. Canon's got two gems at that focal length now.

Thanks Tom, that makes sense.I was considering the 75-300 but lots of reports of it being "soft" so I'm unsure. I really need IS for my zoom stuff as 99% of my shots are blurry =( Is a prime lens an fixed lens?

I think I noted a price decrease for the 600L IS f4 (still a big $$$ item), but I have been wondering if something new to compete with the 600 is coming.
