I have what i believe is a corrupt 2g Sandisk card with a few images I'd like to get still on it. I can see the images in the screen when the card is in the camera but the external card reader dosn't and wants to format. Can I get these images right from the camera via a cord or something. I googled and really found nothing. Thanks.

If the card itself is corrupt then, you're probably not going to be able to download them from the camera via the USB cable as the images are stored on the card not in the camera. If you can see them on the camera LCD, then it's possible they are fine and it's just a card reader issue. All you can do is try... You really have nothing to lose.

Thanks John. Oddly, this happened once before on this card and simply using a different reader allowed me to download the images. This time, same card (and yes, its going int eh trash as soon as I finish this exercise) and neither reader sees the images. It doesn't say its corrupt, just doesn't see the images. When I put the card back in the camera, I see them fine leading me to think the card might actually be okay.

Try doing a scandisk on the drive (right click drive in my computer go to properties then head to tab "tools" then do the error checking) Typically this will fix it if the drive isn't royally screwed. Otherwise just try it out in the camera. No harm will be done. Also have you tried taking more pictures with the camera to see if it accepts more pix. It sounds just like some small corruption. If the camera can read it and the reader can see it that is a big plus.
