Are there any digital photography books specific to the G3 (or possibly the G2) to help explain all features and improve use of camers?

Check this one out. 99 Easy steps to Digital Photography by Ken Milburn it's probably the best one around for its price. I found it invaluable.

If money is not an issue you may want to check the short courses books recommended herein. I've checked their indexes and it appears to be comprehensive.

I have just received the "Short Course in Canon PowerShot G3 Photography". Ii is excellent. I bought the package ( with CD) and if I had to do it all over again, I would pass on the CD. The book is in B&W while the CD is in color but really doesn't add all that much.

I also bought their book "Digital Desktop Studio Photography". It is also VERY worthwhile.

The G3 book will accentuate the learning curve for you. I wish that I had bought it with the camera.
