I've about settled on a Gitzo 1325, but have questions about using it for macro shots. The Thom Hogan article (http://bythom.com/support.htm (http://bythom.com/support.htm)) mentions using the 1325 for long lenses and macro with no mention of a center column, while other things I've read mention using the available quick column reversed with the head down for macro shots near the ground. I'm having trouble picturing this. Anyone have experience getting a camera mounted to a 1325, center column or no, close enough to the ground for EF 100mm macro shots?
