i dont care what forum i'm in, its there for critique.

Hey, Andy voted three times in three different categories. That's cheating!!!!! :)

I think if you post a picture on the forum (any subforum), you want your fellow photographers to see it ... and comment on it. Otherwise it would be just a 'Look how great my pictures are ... and don't dare to say if you think otherwise' attitude.

But ... if I want brutal and merciless critique that really helps me, I will post it in the 'critique' forum.

I normally don't photoshop others' images unless they either request it or I can think of a dramatic improvement that they did not know about (e.g. apply USM to a picture with absolutely no sharpening or noise reduction to a very grainy night shot).

I also think that it sometimes helps people to realize that improvements are possible where they would not have suspected it (and thus did not ask for it).

If anybody complains, I trust that I can take the image down again without the experience shattering their fragile egos forever. I definitely will not copy the images to other servers or display the image on the internet posing it as my own. But that might just be me - your mileage may vary.

Best regards,
Andy

Nope.

- I do it (selection 1) because
- I don't care about it much (selection 2) and think that people should
- put it into their sig line (selection 3) to stop me from doing it :D

Isn't that what multiple-choice polls are for ???

Best regards,
Andy

PS: As I'm the only one who has so far confessed that he will recklessly change others' images ...
maybe I should also add that I do it quite moderately ... so far 2 times in about 3800 posts

I've done it, but I generally only do it when people ask why their picture does not look right or how it can be improved.

Dang! Forgot 'free game in the Critique corner' (because it felt obvious to me)

Can I still change my vote

Best regards,
Andy

Well, I fixed my sig to let everyone know, that it's free to fix my pix.... I know Photoshop, but I don't know it all... and I'm always willing to learn. To me, meaning of life is to learn something new every day.

So have a ball! (I'll post some pictures soon... so go nuts!) :D
