st stephen !
thanks for the interesting photolog
(is there such a thing as a photolog I wonder ?)
well there is now
you will understand why I call you st stephen,
going through so many pictures I found the saint amongst them, the halo over your head
but there should be a warning light saying one will have a long trip just looking through your pictures here
to summarize, it looks like you and sharon had an adventurous trip to death valley, and poor justice's tongue is a very funny sight , hanging out with all that heat (should he have gone at all ?)
pictures of the old mine door shafts in skidoo
black mountain, charcoal kilns etc
nice shot of the wind farm at technapi pass
The putting green is unbelievable ( almost )
I thought it may be a name you both just called it because it looked so lumpy and you were being funny (the devils golf course)
how on earth could they hit and find a ball there ??
the crator looks great (and greater : )
the colourful mountain shots and also the open air museum, interesting stuff, especially the 'albert skukalski with bike' monument .....its very funny
must have been deadly quiet and peaceful at that amargosh hotel. and as for the pump there, you'll know where to go if theres an oil crisis
there is a public house near here called 'the hangedmans arch' and some of its walls are made with bottles. looks a bit like the picture you have of the bottle house . same idea
you mention badwater is 280 ft below sea level
just a note of interest >>
if you go down to the waters edge of the dead sea in israel your feet will be standing on the lowest dry ground on the planet and you will be 1,285 feet below the mediterranean only fifty miles away.
at its deepest the dead sea goes down another 1,300 feet
just saying this because when you mentioned 'badwater' I was very interested and it brought the dead sea to mind for reasons
thanks
goodnight
marie
