Okay, I have seen many many post their self portraits but I have never done so. I got my remote cord today for my 20D so of course I had to try it out on myself. This is my favorite out of all of them, even the ones where I was smiling and you could see my face. :)

Hmmm ... what does this tell us

Still, I like the picture (though certainly we all would like to see more of you)

Best regards,
Andy

Hey Andy. Okay here is another one. This is my "Hmmm, I am contemplating the mysteries of life." I feel very cheesy posting "serious" pictures of myself. This one is supposed to be sort of silly too. :)

It tells us she is one of 85% of the population who can curl their tongue in to a tube;) JK

Nice shots BTW... Love the second one... Cute:)

That first one is a harder pic to do. I mean with shallow dof and not able to see what you're framing at.
Nice 2nd shot, you look like someone who can spend equal time in front of the lens.

On #1 you have some stray hairs that need to be removed
On #2 I would like to see the whole head and not that cut of the upper part.

Overall, I really like both of 'em :D

I disagree. I think #2 is just great as it is (not to mention very attractive photographer).

I like it. Despite the fact my wife loves to pick on me for not being able to curl my tounge

It was nice to see the contrast of silly and serious in your two pics. KevC is right about your eyes. Nice work. If I had a model like that for self portraits I'd do plenty.

well the first shot seemed silly until i saw the second. realizing you are hot, i guess ill have to say the first is GENIUS!...lol. pretty girls always get special treatment in my book. :) seriously, the second is a great shot, even if it seems a little cheesy. there is a reason why people have historically been asked to pose in cheesy fashions, its because it works. tilting your chin up does amazing things to keep the under the chin flab from being acentuated as well as "thinning the cheeks". Not to say you need any of this, but it helps most people.:)

Okay guys....I am just gushing sitting here at my computer. What nice compliments. Thanks to each of you for the feedback. Yes, the first one was a happy accident. The focus is more on the tip of my nose and under my nose...maybe on my mouth would have been better. But hey, without me being able to see what I was taking, I thought it turned out okay! :) As far as the other one goes...It is really weird to post pictures like that of yourself but it was my favorite of the others I took. I know..about cutting off my head. But the cord is not very long and I had my 50mm 1.8 on there and I could not go back any further. I was sitting on the ffoor and my arm is actually propped up on my chair! Anyway, thanks again for all the feedback. It was a fun process to take pictures of myself. I guess you can get a good idea of how your subjects feel. :)
