Are these dippers? Any birdaholics out there, Tupe what do you think?

The dippers I could find don't look quite the same. These resemble robins and bluebirds - both thrush varieties. Where were these taken?

These were taken in the mountains about 8,000 feet, Sierras of Calif.

From pictures it looks like a veery, or swainson's thrush, or possibly a hermit thrush. I have never seen any of these birds.

Thanks for the tip Tupe, I got some bird books and from the pinkish legs and feet I'm going for an immature dipper?
