iPod touch/iPhone google calendar sync question

I have my iPod Touch set up to sync with google calendar. My question is when is the sync done? When you plug the iPod into the computer and it syncs with iTunes? Or does it do it every time you start the calendar program?

Some of the other software like Zenbe Lists and a notes application I use require manual syncing, but at least then I know when it happens.

I'm just curious.

Well, the answer seems to be when you run the calendar application. Or perhaps whenever it comes into a wireless hotspot zone. But it definitely does it before I plug it in.

That is correct... whenever there is an internet (whether it be connected to the computer, or wireless) connection, it will sync the calendars.
