Hello all, i find that when placing an image for my avatar the image comes out blurry after re-sizing. Can anyone tell me why please?
Regards Phil.

If you are making a very small image larger it will become blurry. If you are over compressing an image it could also become blurry.
How about posting your original here and we can better let you know what the deal is.

Sorry for the delay in responding, but have not been able to get online due to connection problems. I think that the problem could, as you say be due to over compressing as the original images are quite large, but i kept getting "file too large" message when uploading, and it said they had to be 80x80 size so reduced to that. Original image resolution lost due to the messing about re-sizing process, so here is another to give you some idea.
Regards, Phil.

i'd resize it down to 80x80 in PS and apply a bit of USM to make it look crisp. of course, we are only talking about 6,400 pixels here, it's really pretty hard to have much detail with so few pixels.
