Show us your shoes!

Took this photo at a parade recently. The girls on the floats have to stand for about 3 hours through the parade route. The people along the parade route shout "Show us your shoes." That's when the girls stick their feet out from under their dresses and gowns and show them what they are wearing on their feet. Some have tennis shoes, some slipers, and a couple of brave souls that actually wear high heels. This one girl, as you can see, stuck her bare foot out.

When I viewed the pictures later that night I realized that her foot was bare. I didn't see that when I took the picture.

What I liked best about the picture is the expression on her face.

That's a pretty cool story. I've been to lots of parades, but I've never heard anyone calling that out. Maybe I should start doing it and see if it catches on... :lol:
