Hey everyone! This is my first post here. I'm just getting started with some photography, and my aunt asked me to take some pictures of her and her boys yesterday. She is 36 weeks pregnant. It was so much fun! But I'd love to hear any criticism. I want to get better, and have learned so much from reading in this forum... so thank you all! Bring on the critiques!

(also... I'm not really quite sure how to get the pictures on here best, so I'll give it a shot and see if it works!)

I LOVE the last one. The one with the boy blocks I think is a little too dark though

Thank you!

I completely agree about the one with the "boy" blocks being too dark on that right side... but the left side is really light (that's obviously the side the light was coming from!). Any suggestions or help as to how to lighten only that side?

Technically great, cute and utterly cliched. The shots are absolutely identical to the work of a hundred other maternity photographers.

You did a great job! I'm sure her family will cherish these for years to come!

I love all of the shots but the last one is priceless, what program do you use for pp? Here is a edit I done in PS CS2. I hope you like it?

Thank you! I actually do selective color a lot, but from reading here know a lot of people don't like it. Everyone I have taken pictures of LOVES it too, and asks me to do it... but I didn't post any (except the first one) here!

I use Aperture and PS CS3 on my Mac...

Seems a bit harsh... We all start somewhere, and I'm fairly certain that most maternity shots are not necessarily original. That doesn't make them bad shots... There is evidence of some planning and thought here. To the OP, thanks for sharing
