This is a set/sampling from yesterday's shoot - eighteen-month old Karmen atop her tricycle. I've chosen looser poses than my other recent shoots (no headshots) and a brighter and less colourful style of processing too. The mum is a fellow photographer and wanted something different than the norm for this.

On the images, #2 is soft, but the girl's pose fit the set so I included it. The rest look soft too for all that I've taken steps to sharpen them more extensively.

Opinions?

Sorry, but the first two look OOF - and the rest appear a little soft to me.

Beautiful subject - and all nicely framed.

Nice shots, some of them are soft. love the treatment. What lens are you using for these shots? Just curious.

Okay, so we agree they're soft. So could you rescue them by making them look intentionally soft? The biggest problem to me is that because there ARE sharp parts in the photos they just look out of focus, not just soft - so make sure to gaussian blur or something the parts that are sharp? For example, in the first shot, my thought might be to soften the grass foreground.
