Any opinions on this pic are more than welcome. I shot this many times on manual with my G2 and various shutter speeds and aperature settings. I love the blend of different colours you get from a tube getter. Oh and here's a question. I live in N.Falls and we have a spanking new casino with the beautiful neon lights. What's the best method to shoot this scene? I plan on being a fair distance away as I don't have a wide angle lens so a flash is out of the question. I've attempted the shot before but have never been satisfied with the results. Am I asking too much from the camera?

TIA

Its a neat picture..What are they?

For the casino.

- You will definately need a tripod, or something very sturdy to put the cam on.
I would suggest a high aperature, like f22. The higher the number the greater the depth of field, you will want everything in focus. Now because its on f22 you will need a longer shutter speed. I would play around with anything from 5 to 15 seconds... Experimetn and see what turns out better.

Also play around with the iso, I would probably say something like 400, but depending on the look you're going for, you might want higher or lower.

Good luck.

My real passion is high end audio equipment and those are 2 Svetlana brown based EL34 output tubes flanking an Amperex 12AU7A driver tube.

Oh sorry, I regularly hang on a few audio forums and sometimes forget the whole world is not "into" audio gear. Back before the day of the transistor, the vacuum tube was thee choice for amplifying current. Today, many audiophiles have returned to the much sweeter sounding tube over the cold analytical sound of solid state amplifiers. That pic is a macro shot of my custom made 25 watt amplifier.

That's a lovely amp and nicely shot, very cool sounds from them, I just can't afford one at the moment........I'd agree with Michaelmjc on the settings for your shoot.

Asia is a hotbed for tube audio. In fact, the Chinese produce much of the new tube gear available for sale today. Like most things Chinese, the quality control is often lacking but the prices can't be matched by amps produced anywhere else.
