Having made some c&c's it's only fair that I put myself on chopping block.

Those who received my c&c in the past can therefore discount my opinions or dismiss them entirely based on below:

took the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 for a test drive. Handled difficult lighting conditions quite nicely. Noticeable front focus at close range but I'm impressed with the overall IQ. Shot @ f/1.4

I wish I had nailed the focus - I believe it was MF because of the bubbles, but I'm a split-prism kind so the matte focusing screen takes a little effort getting used to.

...I tend to take pictures like this. It'll probably do nothing to most of you, and without the two little white signs, it won't do it for me either. If you find it interesting, let me know.

i like the bubbles.....the edge of the house is kinda distrating but the sharpness of the bubbles is great!

#1 with a dark subject and light background, it makes it hard to look at. bubbles are fun

Love the bubbles! Don't count me as anti-patriotic, but the flag distracts.
#3 is very serene, I like it

Thanks for the feedback.

#1: there was something inherently dissatisfying about the shot. Perhaps I was too giddy about the new lens. There are many successful examples of backlit subject matter by photographers both famous and anonymous so I'll keep an eye on the theme to see what can be done to improve in the future.

#2: I can certainly crop further to eliminate the flag and part of the house. It's just the bubbles are so fun it's so hard to crop them out (the fact that they seem to line up with the stripes of the flag is simply fascinating)...

#3: thank you for the input. I finally tracked down the inspiration behind this shot: something which I encountered when I was about 13:
