I am considering buying an external flash for my G2, I am taking pictures inside a gym and not enough light. I think I am going to get the Quantaray QTB-9500A w/ module QDA-CAf for Canon EOS Auto focus. I am not sure if this is the right combination? I wanted the flash to do double duty for my Nikon n70 so I was also going to buy the Quantaray module for nikon n70 so I could use an external falsh with that also. What do you think?

Whatever you get, do yourself a huge favor and get a flash unit that, like Canon's 420EX, can be angled up and rotated sideways for bouncing.

Being able to bounce greatly extends the possibilities for good photographs. Straight-on flash is usually horrible, even if the flash is offset from the camera a little (as in shoe-mounted).

I think the EOS module won't work with the G2.

While G2 supports Canon's EOS flash units, I don't believe any third party flashes or adapters work correctly with it. I suggest you specifically ask them about G2 and don't let them tell you that if it works with EOS it will work with G2.

None of this information is first-hand experience, but I do believe it is true.
