We're here in west central WI, an unusual 4:30 PM start. Light is wonderful thing. Shot on Friday, August 28th. Double-Header, two city teams vs two teams from another city.
Photo #3, was taken during the second game (a 7:30 PM start).

I'm getting anxious for the football season to start even though I'll only be shooting after community college.. but watching high school I think from the press box.. watched some 5th/6th grade on the practice field at halftime of a soccer match today and the sound of the pads got me wishing Friday was here already! I may decide to bring out the Tokina 50-135 and do a few huge crop shots but obviously won't be long enough to get much from football under the lights!

I looked at the first three and thought wow! Those are really great man, nice! Then I got to the last one and almost thought someone else must have taken it. Horizon is off, crop is way too loose, and there seems to be too much contrast. At that hour, you should have plenty of contrast already so I'd dial it down a bit. Fortunately, most, if not all, of that is fixable in post, it just wasn't on par with the fantastic work you displayed in the first three.

I just mean that the players to the left of #55 add nothing to the moment and I'd have cropped it to eliminate them and as much space to the right of the offensive player as possible (after correcting the horizon of course). let me know if that doesn't explain it and I'll try to do better.

Thanks Scott, as always, I appreciate the feedback. I almost did not submit the last photo, but I liked the "ganged-up" look of the tacklers. The horizon is off, but not quite as much as it appears, the "ramp" in the stands angles down (from L to R), I should have checked my vertical markers (the black PA post in the backcenter of photo) and the back left railing (black). Probably should do that post-processing sometime before 2:00 AM. HA! :D Thanks again.

Nice job, I'll finally get to shoot some football this weekend with a double header of 9:30am and 1:30pm so plenty of light (who wants to bet it rains now that I've said that?) All your guys seasons start early!

The last one the horizon looks pretty good, just that ramp giving the effect. #2 is the one that irks me a bit with the chopped off top of head, probably would have rotated the camera to get as much of him in frame if possible.
