cute shot. lighting is good. only a few things that I see: there's way too much background and the track/dirt path cuts right through his neck...very distracting in a field of green. but what do I know? love the concept.

My best advice is to nail your camera settings first. A properly exposed image will hardly have any noise. All of your noise reduction on this image have ruined it IMHO.

I'm no pro, but I think the picture is fantastic!

Watch your backgrounds. I don't think there is too much background. But as jngo said you have the track going right through his neck And the one tree is making is a hat on him:rolleyes:
I ould have moved him over camera right to get the goals out of the picture and then placed him between the two trees.
And lastly as jeni said, I don't know why you would have had noise in an outdoor portrait. You should have been able to use a low ISO.
It is a cute picture of a cute kid.

i guess i should have stated this in my op,
i was just out with him so he could play and i was sitting on the field, and when he came to sit down then i had him pose, which is why picture background was last of my thoughts. very spur of the moment posing (i was just doin snap shots before really)
i personally liked the goal post, but now that u mention the track, that bothers.
