2. I think they would run much faster without all that hair lol

3. Almost every shot of Salukis I have, they run eyes closed

4. Must catch the rabbit, must catch the rabbit, must .....

5. After every race there is always somebody who does not like the results and is on your back. Somebody who think you did not run clean and is smelling your rear. And of course the winner who does not care what others think and just gives a good laugh

I like them, and they look pretty sharp from here. If you didn't sharpen them after resizing, you might give them just a touch of USM, that could help.

That's a Borzoi :)

Love seeing running dogs. I think the first pic looks more like whippets, not greyhounds. In order of pics, to me it looks like Whippets, Afghan, Borzoi, then Greyhound and Basenjis.
Look at the bulging muscle in the fawn whippet(?)
What camera and lens took these shots? It's a passion of mine but so far I've only got a few good shots. I need a faster lens, and I wouldn't mind more fps too. sigh.

Looks like a MkIIN. I suspect what you need is a faster focusing camera to get more consistency on the dog shots.

Yeah Borzoi, thats what I said lol
I used a tad of USM but it does not make miracles if the original is soft. They are not that bad but I would prefer sharper shots

I think your order is correct, only one greyhound.
I´ve seen some nice close ups of running very muscular greyhounds and that is why I´d like to use 500mm and maybe with 1.4x converter to get those close ups instead of cropping heavily.
I used 1DMk2n + 100-400. I was next to track and for whippets that lens is just too short. More fps is nice but the main things are good AF and fast lens. You dont do anything with bunch of pics that are OOF. Shooting running dogs is not the easiest sport. Every time it takes few starts to get some shots that are sharp
Fantastic set!
Thanks

Thanks Jay. Take your MkIII and put 300 2.8 lens on it and shoot. You´ve got sharp ones, I´ve got soft ones :D

Just to follow up on the USM, I took a couple of these shots and gave them some USM and I think they look better with it. Certainly you're not going to see the results you would if you shot with the 300/2.8, but they do look a fair bit better than the ones you posted.

Please post them. I used fairly small amount of USM with values

I've attached them to this post, hopefully it works. 250/0.2/0 for the afghan, 250/0.3/0 for the Borzoi.
