Cant install Photostich from the Canon utilities disc. All the other programs work fine. Get the message " file transfer error " then it aborts the installation. This didnt bother me when I first got my 20d at Christmas time because I was overwhelmed by it all. Now I could really make use of it. Any ideas ?

Can you copy it from the CD to the hard drive then install it?

Sounds like a bad CRC on the CD, try copying the whole of the CD onto your HD and install from there. I personally take copies of all CD's and store on my Data Drive for backup purposes. In the end I never need to reinstall from a CD I forgot where I put, or was scratched or whatever ;) Yes, I backup that drive to tape. :D

If the copying to HD does not work then there is a problem with the CD. If the copy to HD does work and install does not then you have a bad CRC or a bitwise corruption in the installation program. Ask Canon for a replacement CD if this does happen.

Just use autostitch http://www.autostitch.net.

It removes the bit depth from your images and saves down to 72 DPI only so be aware of this, you will not get print quality panos with this.

Maybe someone knows how to stop this?

You can change the settings to have it generate high res output, it just takes a lot longer to produce, particularly if you don't have a lot of RAM.

Another freeware option is Panorama Factory, v1.6. (v3.4 costs, but v1.6 is an old freeware version, still available for download).
