First football photos of the year and they are posted on my school's new site at www.theTalon.SmugMug.com (http://www.theTalon.SmugMug.com). (I'm the yearbook advisor and I've decided to sell the extra photos for a little fundraiser)
Comments welcome :D
1. This kid ran all over them all night.

2. Our backup QB. This was a fake field goal....didn't make it. :(

3. Knocked the kid sideways about five yards.

4. LB coach. I coached with him when I was the head jv coach.

What is up with the watermark? Can't really see the subject of the photo behind the watermark. #1 and #2 are good shots but the watermark really takes away from the photo.....just my 2 cents.

I tried to make it better. I cut the opacity by 50%. I'm not sure if it just takes a while to go through the system or if I'll have to cut it more.
I agree watermarks take away from the viewing but I'm trying to sell them for a fundraiser. I don't want the little darlings hitting print screen and copying them. I want Mom to buy one or two.

Got Ya.....there is probably someone out there that would still take the photos and post them on My Space or Facebook, even with that watermark. Looks light you had some real bad lighting and still got some good action shots......What set up are you using?

Get rid of the watermark. Really takes away from these shots.

Yeah, I tried that kind of watermark too, although not quite as big, and it doesn't work. I use it on Facebook, so no one can crop it out, but on forums like POTN, I don't think its necessary because it does take away from the image. Learning experience for me.

I agree. I was just being lazy. Instead of taking the original and resizing, I linked from the site.

Sure watermarks are a downer, but if he doesn't want them stolen it's a necessary evil. (let's face it, people may steal anyway).
IMO You can tell a lot about the shots even with the watermark and these look really good IMO. Are those cropped much? You got good results out of the 200.

#2 was cropped a good bit but not too much on the rest.
And as far as watermarks go, that's pretty much how I feel about it...necessary evil. For POTN...not so much but if you don't link, you have to resize and play with it to get it under the max size limit. Then there's the limit on how many you can upload.
We (my school) did a survey last year. About 65% of the freshman class not only thought it was OK to cheat but that they had a right to do it. Now , if they think cheating is a God given right, do you think they'd think twice about stealing images?
