I have some large tif's i need to resize to put on smugmug and im using PSCS2.
now i know i can use the save for web and there also seems to be a script to do this also but i would like to resize and then sharpen before i save.
I know how to change the size but am unsure of the correct settings to use.
can anyone advise me please.
Thanks in advance
Dave.

If you change the image size first to whatever dimensions you are going to use, then go File - Save for web.
Adjust the slider until the file size shown bottom left, is what you want, then save it. :)

Thanks for the reply but im after finding out the best settings for doing this. i know how to do it but not what setting to give the best results.
I dont want to save for web as my pics will be printed from smugmug so i dont want to reduce the colours, just the image size and maybe the resolution down to 300dpi (they are 2900 dpi at the moment as they came from negs). i then want to pass the image through focalblade to apply a print based sharpness and then save (not for web) as jpg. it should result in a file size of about 3mb
thanks anyway
Dave.
Just found i can use File/automate/fit image to do the resizing PSCS2.
Ill muck around with this

The easiest way to resize in PSCS2 is to use the resize wizard. Click on help on the toolbar and about 1/3 of the way down is "Resize Image...". This will bring up the wizard that will walk you through the process of resizing the picture for the web. Hope that helps.
