Well, as you may have noticed for the title of the thread in getting into shooting people atm, more specifically making 'books' for future and current models.
AS you can see by my gear i have the 70-200 2.8L and the 50 1.8, which well, are great lenses for shooting tight shots of people, but as anything in the world some have prettier bodies, other have prettier faces, so sometimes i just don't like to get shots that close, or at least i think i should do that to 'protect' better the model ... i think!
I did a photoshoot in the streets and i also found my kit lens ( which is going to be replaced in one week by the 10-22 :) ) to be not near wide enough for what i wanted, i do like to have lots of DOF by using large f like 8 or up with wide stuff, but some of my photographer friends said its no good because the model should be the only thing stading out, not the background or the sorroudings, is this true?
Im really new at this stuff, and well, i guess spedign years shotting cars and perfecting it dosen't really help me at the moment i start people  ... so, i would love to hear some advices you might have about it ....
And, btw, im sorry for my bad english and maybe i confused my ideas a bit, but i hope you 'get my point' (:
