Where do I start?

Im wanting to break into photography professionally,but I have no idea of how to start. While I might apear to be a redneckish hippie on the outside,Im actually a goth on the inside. So, I guess thats where my inspirations will come from. Im wanting to do CD covers and poster(I'll think of other more interesting things to slap my art on later :) How would one find and market themselves in this catagory?

Well first do you have a portfolio? if not take notice of CD covers, posters, and other stuff you like. And study them to the fullest, and create, not just take a picture, create the image you want. Do you have friend in bands, if so do some images for their covers or posters for them. I do want you it takes lots of work and losing lots of sleep. But its worth it in the long run.
