Shot some drag racing at the Norwalk, Ohio Goodguys show & drags. This was my 1st try at drag racing and I would like any C&C you can provide. I posted these in "Motorsports" asking for help but did not get any help. Can anybody here make any recomendations?

I think the pictures are good..You might consider
1.slowing the shutter and panning
2. using flash and slow shutter (rear curtain sync) to show some movement while still getting a clear image
3.Setting the WB manually to 2800 or so, to get a distinct blue cast and using flash with amber gel to bring the colors of the subject back to their original color.
check out this site. This guy is always looking for a way to create great shots

Yep, those look fine--and just like the shots I got there earlier in the Summer. Here's another from the same spot on the track (Norwalk) as your first pic:

Here is another pic of my brothers "34 Ford". I went to the show and drags with him and then got busy shooting drag pic's. He had a good day also, Got a Goodguy's "Builders Pick" & " Gazette Pick".

I'd be stoked to get shots like that. Sunset/night time shots are some of the only ways I can see them being better. Maybe a rear view or some from the side?
I have plans to shoot drag racing myself. Would you mind listing the settings on those above?
Thanks for sharing.;)

Mark II,
These were shot with a 1D Mk III and EF200 F2 L IS. ISO=400 and + 2/3 exposure comp. Dragster was 1/2000 @ F4 & Nanook was 1/2500 @ F3.5. The next time I shoot drags I will be using wider apertures to isolate the cars better. I was hoping the exif data would go with the pic but I must be doing something wrong.
