Here's the story in a nutshell.
went out with a girl for two years, she was my model and test subject during this time span. Just recently broke up. I shut down her website due to threats from her. I have all the original images from the previous photoshoots.
She wants to take me to court if I dont release all the images that we taken together.
no contracts due to the fact she was my gf during that time.
Since I am the photographer, I should be the owner of all the images, correct?
peice of the conversation:
"her: im suppose to sign a contract to have the images released to you
her: you dont have full ownership of my images, those images are of me
her: so i need a copy of those
her: so expect a letter in the mail, if you do not release those images to me within 30 days then we're going to court"
I know that since there was no contract signed, I am still the rightful owner of the images even if they just sit on a disk till i die. If she recieves the images then she'll make prints and sell them at car shows to make money off them.
so.. who's right here? Her or me?
