Hey everyone, today I felt like seeing if I could capture a flying bird shot with my new 70-200 f/4 lens. After two different birds, two different attempts I got it!!!:D I was surprised it only took two try's.... the darn things are soooooo small! Anyway, I had to crop it so I'll show ya the orig, and the cropped. I know it's not that great, but I'm still excited!

Shot at 200mm, f/4, 1/3200th, ISO 1600, AI Servo, ect.

That looks great to me. Good Job.

This past Saturday I too had my new 70-200 on and it finally wasn't raining, but unfortunately I had switched to 'one shot mode' that morning. While at a small pond with my 3 year old, a great blue heron decided to slowly glide the whole length of the pond. I saw it coming and carefully zoomed it in, focused it, and was so sure I had a picture worthy to post!! Well here it is...

Wow--very nice shot. Sharp!
and good definition on the black bird. I haven't had much luck with the flying birds yet.
You're on your way! :D

Wonderful shot Rbrt! Wish I could do that.
And MIA, that would have been a very nice shot if only...very elegant bird!

JereMIA that really stinks that you had your camera on one shot! Man, talk about a perfect oppertunity missed. If it wasn't for those tree's that'd be a fantastic shot too. Oh well!

Thanks everyone for all the comments. Hopefully next time I'll find a more exotic bird to shoot. :-)

Oh yea, I LOVE THIS LENS! :-)
