My First Blue Bird

I had to get out today and test my new lens, I got a 17-40L. It has been raining here for nearly two weeks straight and the sun finally came out. It was the wrong time of day, 5pm, the sky had a haze but I grabbed my bag and headed out. So there I am, just checking out the lens and this little bugger comes flying by. Quick switch to the telephoto and a few shots later, I got him. Not the best quality, but my first Blue Bird. Boy, are they small!

Very nice! I love the building, the sky, the bird. It'd be so cool if you could have zoomed right in on the bird. He's posing very nicely there! Congrats on the new lens, I'm sure you'll love it!

Yes, I agree--that is a nice shot--interesting composition too.
He is a funny little bird--looks like he has a little pot-belly:)
