Hi all

Just trying to get an idea of what would be a good starter tripod. I'm hoping to go to the local photo shop to check some out, but any thoughts would be appreciated. budget is <$200, but would rather keep it under.

Just looking for a beginner tripod. I have an XTI, currently only have the kit lens (hopefully updgrading soon to a 17-85). Looking for something that is easy to travel with (i.e., something I can put in/on my bag, isn't 30lbs, etc). I'll mostly use it for night photography/landscapes

thanks!

This is where (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/479931-REG/Manfrotto_by_Bogen_Imaging_190XB_190XB_Tripod_Legs _Black_.html) I would start looking, and use a Bogen 488RC2 head. Manfrotto makes excellent tripods, so does SLIK.
