hi guys n girls, i'm new to this forum (infact this is my first post) and for starters i'd like to say HI! i'm so glad i found this forum, i was looking everywhere for somewhere to learn brag and socialise with people who are into cameras like mine.
i'm actually a car freak by heart, and i got into camers by taking stacks (upto 400 a night) of photos of cars during cruises and the likes.
i was using the household olympus for the last 2 years and it sucked....
the pics were dark and blurred, or to bright and ruined. i hated it.
so, i asked around and got lots of information and decided to buy myself a IXUS 30 with 3.2 mega pixel and digic II processor, it's perfect for what i use it for. it's fast small and i can adjust the shutter and ISO for dark nights, well.. i'm sure you all know about the camera. haha.
i'm not much of a photographer, i've never had any experience, but i love it to pieces and i can't wait for the next cruise night (should be a month or so away)
but, until then, i'll (and have been) experiment with it and see all it's great features
at first i was just pointing and clicking, until... i saw a few slow shutter effects with cars at night and all that. i LOVE that style of photo.
so anyway, i'll stop harping on and i'll show you a few photo's out of my hundreds that i've snapped up given half a chance during the 3 weeks i've had the camera.

this one was in melbourne (my home) australia, at the start of a round-a-bout as a tram went past at dusk, i was in a car and it was REALLY hard to keep it still without a tripod. you can see the car backlights behind it, and and slow shutter effect makes the tram zip past, haha, this one has to be my favourite.

this is another slow shutter photo with my mate (driving) looking at the traffic for an opening to join, (you can see him in the left through the mirror) i reckon it's a good photo because it makes the cars look like the are going so fast you can't possibly join the traffic.

this (a smaller photo) is of the police bikes that were lined up for canarying (defecting) cars at chapel st melbourne (chapel st is the car 'hoon' pit) they had SO many cars and bike there, i'm dissapointed i didn't get more photos
this one isn't really a good photo, but i like it because of the story behind it - i got canaried (defected) and i had to catch a taxi home haha. pain in the ass. damn revenue raising.

this one is a really ugly photo because i tried a certain program to make it a smaller file and it chopped it down to 52kb! so it's all rough and jaggered. but i love the angle (reminds me of Street Commodores magazine photo shoots), it's just a mates car. VQ statesman 5ltr V8. luxury monster :P
and that's all the photos i thought were worth posting up, please, give me all the feedback and comments you want, advice will also be worth posting up as i'm a crappy photographer :P
thanks guys.
