need driver help

I have a lexmark x3430 and when I had it installed i kept getting the blue screen of death and deleted the driver folder etc after uninstalling and what not. I have 32bit and i need to scan pictures to make a slide show thingy before I possibly leave for basic in a few months. Did i possibly download the wrong driver or does my pc naturally not like this printer?
