View Full Version : bee on a flower, and some serious bokeh!

I was outside with the 300D on a tripod setting up a few test shots of these flowers to show what stunning bokeh the Zeiss 135mm f/3.5 produces at f/3.5 when this little guy flew into my shot, right into the part I was focussing on too. What luck! Definitely not an opportunity to miss so I took this one at 1/500s.

Fantastic, lovely flower made much better with the on queue arrival of the bee. Great shot.

That is beautiful! The color, the clarity, the cute wings (though I don't usually see bees as cute!).

You could make a greeting card and other saleable items from that shot!

There was definitely more than a little luck in that shot. I like the way you can make out the bee's facial features including the appendage that he uses for sucking out the pollen, plus his two stashes of pollen already attached to his thighs.
