The first is a photo of a crested tern, Sterna bergii - one of the most familiar terns seen in Australia. The second needs no introduction - the majestic pelican.

I tried to capture the solitude of the area in both photos - the reflection in the water, the calmness of both birds. Hope you like them

Both very good shots, Rel.

I particularly like the crested tern as I've never been
able to get that close to them.

And the Pellies are always photogenic

Totally agree with Eland.

Actually what surprised me were the multi-colored tones in the reflections.

I have been at the ocean many times and I love shore birds. But your pictures made me realize that I had never noticed these colors before.

You might want to sharpen both pictures a bit. Then I would remove the little white spot just below the bird and try to correct the color of the second one (seems to have a blue haze). After that you will end up with 2 good shots.
