I'm trying my best to get away from shooting in the "P" mode and I'm doing pretty good at it for the most part... I'm hoping someone could help me with a problem I have from time to time... every now and then some of the pictures are a little to dark.. my question is -- is the way I'm metering ?? I've got it set to EVALUATIVE now... should I set it to something else... or what should I try
I'm shooting with a 40D 24-70 2.8 L and a 580EX flash
Thanks,
Wm

Go to search and type in "Wedding flash", and there is a discussion going on there.

You need to describe things better. Are things too dark in P mode? Then you need to use exposure compensation? Are things too dark in M without a flash? You've set the exposure wrong. Are things too dark with M mode and a flash? Either the FEC or manual exposure are wrong.
