New 20D Grip?

Hi Everyone,

I just purchased a 20D a week or so ago and with it I decided to get the Accessory Package. You know the one....grip, extra battery and bag. Well they back ordered the kit but I got the camera right away. The dealer told me that they did this because they are trying to restock after taking down the grip because of the lock up problems. My question is....do you think they have it fixed? Or am I just waiting for something that is going to cause me disappointment? I have a DRebel with a grip and I don't think that I am going to be comfortable taking shots until I get a grip back on this new camera. I sure hope the issue is resolved and that they rectify all the troubles for the members here.

I have had my 20D and grip for 4 months and have had no problems with the grip. I would not worry about it. You may not have any problems, even is your grip is a pre-modified version. If you do, Canon will stand behind it.

Well that is good to hear. I realize that it was very selective. It sure is encouraging though that Canon Canada is standing behind the issue and not running from it. I have had wonderful experiences with my retail outlet and I have to say that all of the stuff that I own that has the Canon logo on it has never let me down!
