12 hour overnight race although I only stuck around until about 1am.
It's tough enough to ride for 12 hours, but overnight too?? :D Full moon, heavy fog. Pretty cool.

I love the effect in #2, but not so much in #4.

The goal in #2 & 4 was to have the rider in the foreground and the big dipper in the sky behind which was just setting above the trees. No easy and not successful! LOL 30 second exposures to bring out the stars with a flash at the beginning as the rider went by - BUT I couldn't begin the exposure until the rider's headlights had already passed because that would just wash the whole thing out. In #2, a second rider came through before the 30 second exposure was over and those are his lights showing up. I have one other one with a slightly brighter flash that brought the rider out more, but washed out the stars. Tricky stuff. ;)

Not the easiest one to shoot. I really like the creativity on #2 and 4

What.. no mosquitos or skunks???? :) Cool idea, riding in the dark.. but if the headlight battery were to go out..

That looks challenging and probably frustrating to photograph. Good job though.

I agree. I like the creativity in #2 & #4. Really like that you have the rider and can see the stars in #4.
