Canon G-6: Musical Storage

I guess I'm looking for the best of two worlds. I'd like to grab an MP3 player that will allow me to transfer photos from the Canon-G-6. On a previous trip to the Blue Ridge Mts last fall, I was downloading images onto my laptop, easy enougth. But after I got home, I had a mechanical hard drive failure and didin't want to spend the bucks for disk recovery. I'm looking at the iRiver H10 series at the moment. Has anyone had any luck with this or any player for that matter?

I have the Archos AV420. I really like it, especially since it's got the CF card slot built in, you can also record tv shows and movies on it (makes long flights bearable), it's easy to load mp3's on, and it beats carrying loads of CDs and a laptop with me if I can avoid it.
