Would love any comments or suggestions on the lighting (and yes, I know i need to get a polarizing filter :)

yes, I know i need to get a polarizing filter Well, no. You just need to put the light on something else & have that reflect in the car, like having a catchlight in the eyes of one of your G&N shots. Look at the knife & Browning threads here for some more interesting lighting:

Well, no. You just need to put the light on something else & have that reflect in the car, like having a catchlight in the eyes of one of your G&N shots. Look at the knife & Browning threads here for some more interesting lighting:

Ahhhh, that makes sense. Thanks for the links. I'll read through them. I haven't seen the Car Models link. I've been going through the Strobist 102 homework assignments so that's how I got the toy car shot. Here's my setup. I was bouncing a Speedlight off a white reflector board.

the Strobist 102 homework assignments There's nothing wrong with flash if you don't have any other options. I prefer to try using the light that's simple & free, as in these:
UBNXOUS Beast! part #2. (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=747170)

Inside, I try to mimic one "Sun" light, + a big, clear sky. Try adding a bounce card for the front & side if you think it will help to get what you want.
