I am just getting into shooting "models", basically TF* and I'm looking to learn as much as I can about poses and such. I have shot one model so far and had pretty good results (could have been better of course, but could have been worse) I think this model was pretty easy to work with anyways.
I have read Succeed in Portrait Photography (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Succeed-Portrait-Photography/dp/2880468116) which I got at a used bookstore. Quite a bit of useful tips and I should read it again. But I was wondering what are some of the better books out there before I go out and buy random ones?
Any other resources (online) would be great as well. :)

Those look like good suggestions! I will consider those for sure!
Scott Kelby had tons of books.. are there any portrait books he has that are worth looking into?

Also, if you're unlucky like me (can't find a volunteer model), then you can use posable toys to practice what you've learned from books. But if you're lucky, then I envy you.

lol.. that's kinda funny but you gotta do what you gotta do! I've actually thought about buying a mannequin (if i could find a cheap used one somewhere) to practise flash photography with.

@DStanic: (off topic) Er, actually, there are lifelike dolls that one can use.
Disclaimer first: I'm in no way encouraging s_x with dolls or pornography by sharing the link below. I just believe that if one has money, he or she can buy one of the dolls to practice posing with.

(off topic) I'd have to settle for the upcoming Revoltech Queen's Blade Melona and Menace. If I were a millionaire, I may buy one s_x doll :p but since I'm not, I'd rather use the money for a future L. (end off topic)
Back to topic, while I recommended the book above, I don't have it actually but I am planning to get it soon. What I have is Doug Box's Guide to Posing for Portrait Photographers (http://www.amazon.com/Doug-Guide-Posing-Portrait-Photographers/dp/1584282487/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1252809571&sr=8-1). I reviewed it. I suggest you scan it first if it's available in a library or physical bookstore.
The best portrait book I have is one I found in a used bookstore, "The Art of Portraits and The Nude" (The Kodak Library of Creative Photography). It only has 101 pages but those 101 pages speak volumes. I wish all books were written like this.
