I'm not really sure but I'm guessing that these two bugs are mating. If anyone can confirm what they are and what they're up to I'd be grateful!

We call them'Shield Bugs' here, little things bight aswell!
Can be sure what they are up to, but could make a wild guess..........

Yes, Green Shield Bug or Palomena Prasina and thanx to the same book that told me that, I can tell you that they hibernate until May and the young aappear in September, so I guess your right they must be mating. They mainly feed on Hazel. Excellent photo.

Green Shield Bugs, also known as Stink Bugs because they stink if you squish them (so I'm told...I haven't tried it). BTW, cool photo of the pair.
