Going with a Lenovo. Sure, a mac book would be nice but I don't have the $$$.
I've narrowed it down to a ThinkPad R500 (for $840) or an IdeaPad Y550 (for $680). I'm not a gamer nor do I watch movies on it. I use it for work, surfng, and for photography (Photoshop CS3) The specs:
R500 $840
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor P8600 (2.40GHz 1066MHz 3MBL2)
4 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1067MHz SODIMM Memory (2 DIMM)
250GB Hard Disk Drive, 5400rpm
Intel Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD
2 year at home warranty
Y550 $680
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor T6400 ( 2GHz 800MHz 2MB )
4 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1066MHz
320GB 5400
Intel Integrated Graphics X4500
3 year at home warranty
So, is the R500 ThinkPad worth the extra $$$? I can get an extra year of warranty with the IdeaPad and save $160. Both have 64 bit Vista which will be upgraded for free to Windows 7 64 bit.
Thanks guys!
